Literature Response Forms, Grades 6-8
Responding to literature is a process in which the learner derives meaning from a variety of texts. It involves thinking about that text before, during, and after the actual follow-up activity. Literature response forms offer meaningful, appealing activities that students can complete independently during English class. These forms help the teacher to assess student understanding of the different forms of texts that they are encountering. Literature Response Forms focus on the following skills: Vocabulary Development, Summarizing Events in a Story, Identifying Important Information, Reasoning and Critical Thinking, Character Analysis and Creativity and Design.
